adjusting spring preload on coilover

I have Flex's and i think the spring rates are perfect for a daily driver but a little too soft IMO for track duties.

So me and my friend were talking about suspension and he mentioned that i can adjust the preload on my springs to make them stiffer. Although in theory they would make my ride feel stiffer and take turns better, what are the long term affects of raising your spring preload? How much would you recommend i raise my spring preload to feel close to HE springs? *6/5 flex, 8/6 HE*

I ask because the idea of compressing springs with the preload beyond TEINS factory spec might result in bad news. But on the other hand.. why would TEIN even have an adjustable preload. Anyone adjust theirs? feedback please.

Thanks in advanced.

P.S. I know someone will reply with "ADJUST YOUR SHOCKS TO A HARDER SETTING", but that won't help me with hard turns. Besides, i set my shocks to 3/4 (Non edfc setting) daily <~ pretty stiff already.

pre load mean that your sping is semi compress so that the rebound occurs at a faster rate.

if you want 8/6 you have to buy the springs.

i thought bound and rebound was calibrated by shocks hence the bound/rebound adjustments on high end coilovers.

what is a highend coilover to you?

You have height adjustment/preload adjustment and damper adjustment.

Stiffen the damper stiffer shock,

Preload the spring stiffer spring.

Not changing the KG.

Hmm, i guess they don't have seperate bound rebound adjustments on coilover.. or at least the ones that i just looked at.. funny i thought they did. Oh well, my bad on that part.

So you're saying it would stiffen up the springs but not the spring rate? Can you please explain the difference?
