How much preload?

For about 6 months, I have been driving around on TEIN SuperStreets, and the car feels great.

Does anyone know how much is the proper amount of preload to use. I figured the springs are LINEAR, so the spring rate should be constant when the preload is set reasonably low. I have basically set the preload at almost 0....I have raised the collars just up to meet the bottom of the uncompressed spring (to allow me to keep the car as low as possible).

Does the sound okay? Any input would be great!

that's exactly what I (think) I have. I jacked up the car, and just put the seat up high enough to touch the bottom of the uncompressed spring.

I suppose you could go lower than this right?

I guess then, you give the strut less travel, and induce the possibility that if you hit a large bump and the weight comes off that wheel, the spring can "move" vertically and may lead to damage
