when using a brake cleaning spray, do i have to protect the brake pad from the spray?? would it affect it in anyway?? the spray is suppose to clean off dirt and anything else thats on the disc

i dont think it will when me and my dad cleaned out ours with that stuff, we had no remorse for the pads and mine are doing fine, that stuff kiks *** though its real good stuff

i dont think it would make any difference either, but on the can it does say protect the pad... so im either looking at the wrong spray or the instructions are just overly protective...

any more input??

hmm well if it suggest it on the can I'd do it just to be safe I just used that stuff they had at autozone called professional strength brake parts cleaner, and it dont say anywhere not to do that with this stuff it just says spray desired areas generously. You might have somethin different so I dont know what that stuff might be about so I'd stay away from the brake pads if it says just incase.
