Arrow broke and broken...

I'm broke and the front, right shock on my 95 240sx se is blown. I figured while i'm replacing it might as well do all four. It looks like my budget limits my choices to Tokico HPs or KYB GR-2s. Depending on this month's bills, KYB AGX might be a posibility, but probably not. I know everyone is in love with the AGXs, but what about the GR-2s? Where I live in Massachusetts, potholes have been known to swallow entire wheels, and my wife hates the bumpy ride with the original shocks. What would be somewhat comfortable but wont make my car feel like an old Buick either?

She thinks the stock shocks are bumpy(far from), or the blown shocks are bumpy(obviously)? Get the AGX's. I have run tokico blues and they blew in like under a year. Do it right the first time. Get some S Techs too and you'll be set.

GR2 and tokico blues, not much better than stock if you ask me.

Save alittle longer for the AGX or egual shock.

get AGX only if you'll lower the car.

GR2s and tokico blues wont last when lowered, so think about where you want to go with the car in the future. if youre settled on stock height those will do fine. but if a drop is in the future better get the agx

for the next year+ at least I don't plan on lowering it... my main concern is ride/handling quality tradeoff... i want my car to handle well, my wife wants it to ride well... plus i'm gonna have to drive a baby in it at some point... so basically the shocks that are comfortable but don't make the handling sloppy but are still affordable are the ones i'll save up for...

My suspension is completley blown (Oil EVERYWHERE), and it is pretty bumpy, however when I got the car the suspension was pretty good and not bouncy or anything.

OEM isnt a bad choice if you are just going for a quick fix, and I dont know many brands for shock/strut replacement... sorry

UPDATE: I just bought a set of KYB agx off ebay for around $350 shipped. I think I got a pretty good deal. I figure this way I have some room to play with as far as ride quality when I'm in the car alone, and if I ever get another car in the future I can put new springs in, stiffen up the suspension and have some fun. For now, they'll probably spend most of their time on the softest setting, but the potential for fun will always be there... I'll let you guys know how they feel once they're in.
