Changing rear brakes

Changing rear brakes
My little brother has a 93 Nissan 240, while he was changing the rear brake pads he couldn't get them to compress (rear disc brakes). I found something describing that they turned in using a special tool. Any suggestions on how to do this without the special tool?

I have done it plenty of times with needle nose pliers. You have to watch the boot and be careful when screwing the piston back in.
I would also bleed your system completly. I know when my brakes locked on me my system was fouled. Rust and murky brake fluid came out the rears.

Needle nose pliers are fine. Just be careful.
There is a rubber boot thing around the piston you are trying to push in. The car is old and the rubber may be dry and subject to cracking and tearing. Use silicon lubricant to lube it.
