DO Z Brakes bolt on to an S14?

i know this has probably been answered before, i tried a search but it didn't come back with anything specific...since s14's are 5 lug, then the z brakes will bolt directly on with no modification? you would just need a 300zx master cylinder?

for the front, all you neeed are calipers, pads, rotors, all the lil things u need to put the pads on, and custom lines. the MC isn't necessary. for the REAR, you will loose your ebrake unless you swap the whole z brake assembly. you basically need everything thats bolted on to the z spindle. all you do is swap spindles and there you go....the ebrake lines have to be extended.

would it be worth the $ just to swap the front brakes? with just the 4-pistons on the front and stock on the rear, is the brake bias affected (negatively)? and how do you get custom lines? you can't just buy stainless lines for a 300zx? thanks!

naw...u can't just get 300zx....the top of the fitting wont fit the 240sx...something like that...it doesn't work....you CAN shave down the bolt that was on ur stock 240sx brakes and use the banjo fitting which is stock on the 240sx....the only thing is....its unsafe....i ran like this for a couple hundred....or hundred miles....
its worth getting the custom lines....you can get it done at random hose shops....i did.... cost me...$120 but..thats w/ a lil discount cuz i know his cousin or sump....

the brake bias is effected negatively....or so they say....the front brakes lock up ALOT quicker ....i mean u'll know when they'll lock up...but....too quick for me.... the MC swap along with the rears are WELL worth it....i loved it when i did mine...i was AMAZED...much better than with just the 4 pots....

umm.....sites like enjuku and heavy throttle sell the lines....just shop around...they're usually about 160+shipping and sometimes have a down time on the rear lines....

no prob....feels good to help others...esp cars....

OH.....when u do install the lines...MAKE SURE U HAVE A BRASS washer between the bolt and the calipers.....

Does SPL have a web site?
I need the front and rears! Thnx much!

and I also had a few questions for ahnyoungboi, Im swapping all the parts from my Z over to my S14a, Im using the 5 lug hubs from the Z, but will the knuckles from the Z fit? or do I have to press out the Z knuckles and use the S14 knuckles?... and how do u get the whole rear Z setup to fit the S14a rear? LOL I didnt think it was this much wrk... but I guess the brake MC from the Z'll get swapped over now too... and wut would I have to do to get the Z brake MC to fit?

the MC just bolts in...but you do have to bend the brake lines a little...you have to bend it back and angle it 45 degrees...simple stuff...
the Z rear hubs and bearings are the same as the s14's ....
umm...EVERYTHING can be swithed over to the s14 spindle....after you take off the spindle, you'll see 4 bolts on the back...unbole those 4 bolts ...no wait...theres 5....i undid the big one first and then the 4... then u take everything off the spindle, ebrake assembly backing plate this and that....
you'll see its a simple job... when you compare the s14 and the z spindles, they look almost the same...the only thing thats different is the part where u bolt on the shock....
well....i dont know how else to put it...let me know if you need some more help.....
Dont forget to grease up the bearing so the axle slides in better....and when you bolt up the 4 bolts...you do them evenly...

and i didn't wire up the mc....duzn't matter, just need to make sure u have some brake fluid.....and dont forget to bleed ur MC

if you go to home depot they should have some cable connecting thing
they're just a couple u bolts and stuff....they should work fine
just buy a couple of those, and cut part of the 240sx lines. grab the z lines and connect them to the 240 using the connectores....
make sure you connect them at a place where the connectors wont interfer with anything else
i have yet to do this....im just too damn lazy....
and no the Zlines do not reach
