e-brake light is on

this has been covered many times but they give an after math. i checked the fluid and its full, i checked the switch under the center consol, its fine.
everything checks out ok and it still stays on.

Please Help!

my turbo timer runs everytime i trun the key on to run because of that stupid light/switch

i can pull the switch all the way back and it still stays on. i checked for power to it and there nothing.
Thanks,
Jay

so its says that is not getting power?

Check to see if the wire got frayed or possibly burnt.

I may have grounded out.

ok well i replaced my brake pads and rotors yesterday and of course the stupid light is still on. i have checked everything now. fuses are all good wire isnt frayed or burnt, brakes are brand new, and the fluid is perfect.

what is my next option here?

did you check the sensor IN the master cylinder?

Its supposed to warn you if your low on fluid.

I just unplugged mine does no harm.

Unplug it and see if the light goes off.

Wait, what exactly happened for you to get it to turn on in the first place? I'm sort of lost here...

i just got my clutch , pressure plate and flywheel put on 2 days ago and my e-brake came on as well....besides just having an error, or low fluid, what r some other reasons the light can come on...are there sensors near or on the brake setup itself?

Hey, did you ever figure this out? I'm having the exact same problem.

EDIT: Mine was low brake fluid in the master cylinder as well. I didn't realize that the light would come on before the fluid dropped below the MIN point, mine was still a little bit above.

the metal ring around the shifter boot that bolts to the car was pinching the turbo timer wire and saying that my e-brake was on.

if you dont have a turbo timer, you need to check your brake fluid level. thats a typical reason for the light to be on. also, check and possibley adjust your ebrake line
