e-brake light is on
this has been covered many times but they give an after math. i checked the fluid and its full, i checked the switch under the center consol, its fine.
everything checks out ok and it still stays on.
Please Help!
my turbo timer runs everytime i trun the key on to run because of that stupid light/switch
i can pull the switch all the way back and it still stays on. i checked for power to it and there nothing.
Thanks,
Jay

well i hooked up some direct 12v power to it and i just blew the fuse i was using for saftey. so i think that wire is supposed the be grounded, im not sure. i just cant stand that stupid light being on all the time. and sense it says my ebrake is on my tubo timer turns on automatically even if i dont need it to.

ok well i replaced my brake pads and rotors yesterday and of course the stupid light is still on. i have checked everything now. fuses are all good wire isnt frayed or burnt, brakes are brand new, and the fluid is perfect.
what is my next option here?

im not sure why it turned on....it kinda just came on one day
if im not mistaking that sensor that you are talking about Land_ho its right on the front or on one of the sides correct?
i unplugged that already and nothing happened, the light stayed on

i just got my clutch , pressure plate and flywheel put on 2 days ago and my e-brake came on as well....besides just having an error, or low fluid, what r some other reasons the light can come on...are there sensors near or on the brake setup itself?

i hate that crappy light....i just want it fixed because no matter what if my e-brkae is set or not my turbo timer runs when i shut my car off.....that just tells me for sure its something with the e-brake handle

Hey, did you ever figure this out? I'm having the exact same problem.
EDIT: Mine was low brake fluid in the master cylinder as well. I didn't realize that the light would come on before the fluid dropped below the MIN point, mine was still a little bit above.

the metal ring around the shifter boot that bolts to the car was pinching the turbo timer wire and saying that my e-brake was on.
if you dont have a turbo timer, you need to check your brake fluid level. thats a typical reason for the light to be on. also, check and possibley adjust your ebrake line
