I have a question, can somone help!

Im thinking about getting a s13 hatchy, im gonna drop an SR in soon after so mileage doesnt matter but, but if the chassis is really high like 230,000 isnt the car going to have alot more problems in suspention or axles or you know?? Theres this 1990 240 with a engine w/ around 60k and the chassis has about 230,000 and selling it for $2,700. Im planning to race the 240 and use it for mountain passes but should i look for one with less miles on the chassis?????

well obviously you're going to want to test drive the thing before you buy it. You should be able to get a good idea what kind of shape the suspension is in. If it's all stock stuff under there, you're going to want to get all new suspension parts anyway if you're going to race it. With that said, the only other thing I can think of to check on the chassis is rust and carfax the car to make sure it isn't it doesn't have rebuilt salvage title... if ur really **** outta luck the frame might not be completely straight but ur not going to be able to tell unless it's really really bad or if you get it aligned

most likely if the car is not salvaged and has not been in a bad wreck it should be ok.

if the car was previously modified / sat on jackstands / worked on by an idiot then you might run into problems.

us socal folk are lucky because rust is almost non existant.

don't worry about the chassis having too much miles, you probably won't own the car long enough to realize there are problems. KA's last forever too, so don't get all excited and swap the motor out for no reason.

just have the car checked out by a mechanic or check it out yourself and test drive it.

good luck with your search and drive safe!
