GR2's are meant to be replacements for stock shocks, whereas AGX's are meant to run with lowered springs...IMO, i would cough up the extra dinero...its worth it

P.S. - because the GR2's are stock replacements, they wont last very long with lowered springs, the same as if you ran lowered springs with the OEM shocks...

Hahahhaah

Living proof.

Brooklyn Mike has the exzact setup you are looking for. Has been running them for a year already.

Tein S tech with GR2s. They are a fantastic ride and YES we live in Brooklyn NYC home of the "Career Ending Potholes"

They work really sweet.

Here is his car:

hmmm....
95 and hyjynx, i know what youre trying to get at, but i guess nothing beats first hand experience
for now, i just need some shocks taht wont give me an excessively bouncy ride when i lower my car. and maybe if i get more serious about tuning my suspension, i'll go with agx's

any other "value" priced shocks recommended to go with lowering springs? (if you knew me, you'd know how hard it is for me to save money )

I've got some H&R springs and I used the KYB GR2s. They work great for me but I don't do any sort of track racing. I really like them so I know you can't go too wrong. But it's true, if you're drop is significant, or at least more then mine (~1.3"), then they may not work as well as on my car.

Best of luck,
Matt

And on the west coast, I have GR-2's and Tein springs on my 95SE. The GR2's were on the car when I bought it, and the GR2's were on the car for about 15 months now total (the seller showed me the receipt for the GR2's). I've had the Teins on the car for about 3 months now, and there is no "excessive bounce" with the combo. I actually think the Tein's are a tad too stiff compared to Eibachs, but as far as shocks in the "value" area goes, I'd prefer GR-2's to Tokico Blues (went through 2 blown Tokico's on my previous car).

There you go. First hand experience. Left Coast
