Parking brake light

My parking brake light will not turn off. It started happening about two weeks ago. I can release the brake but for some reason the light will not go out. Has anyone else had this problem? I would like some insight before I tear apart my dash. Thanks.

this happened to my sisters sentra. when u push in the brakes, there is a pin *most likely stuck) that pushes a button that allows the brake lights to go on...

just check to see that its not stuck

i know this sounds simple, but check the button on the end of the handbrake it could be stuck or jammed
