Question of Preference

I am trying my hardest to decide what to do suspension wise, so I thught maybe you guys could help aide me...

I am deciding on either KYB AGX and TEIN S-TECH combo, or the TEIN basics. I would like to AutoX my car, BUT it will be my daily driver more than a track car.

All input welcome and any other ideas would be great.

i personally LOVE the tein Flex system... im so glad i went with it. i heard rumors about it being a little agressive for every day driving but i dont think so at all.
very easy to install and very effective for those days at the autocross track.

Well, right now I have the Tein STechs with KYB GR2's, and about every poly bushing I could find for the suspension. It handles well, but when I go auto-x, I am wishing I had higher spring rates than what the STechs have. I am now buying a set of Tein HR coilvers to replace the strut/spring combo. The STechs are 179 lbs/in, compared to the ~380 lbs/in of the HR's. Just my .02

well the agx is damper adjustable and the basics are not. The basics are height adjustable and the agx/stech combo is not.

the stechs spring rates are softer than the basics. I'm not sure exactly what you need more... stiffer spring rates or an adjustable damper for auto x.. but why not go for both.

BTW I think my flex's are kool n all.. but the spring rates are a little too soft for me.

You again, huh, Zenki...

I said it before, and i'll say it again, save and get coilovers. But i feel since you are relentless to make a decision, you should get the KYB/Tein combo, the basic's are not very good at all. You can save a little money and make sure the car is running very well.

how about some koni yellows and RSR springs?
slightly softer than the basics but much stiffer than the s-techs.

it seems like daily driven comfort is what you're primarily looking for. but you say you want to autox once in a while.

this is the way i think of it.
using siff springs, you will get used to a harsh ride till you ignore it.
using soft springs, you'll kick yourself in the *** once you realise you can handle a little more harshness.

as you've said, money is a big factor for you. take a look at what revolutionz_s13 said. has GR2/S-Tech but wants more.
so instead of buying coilovers in the first place he's making two purchases.

Wow, I thought I closed this thread? Yeah JDMxDRIFT I opened this thread before my other one, but thought I deleted this one. Oh well, I'm getting the MR coilovers and and very happy with the reviews and the price A write-up will be coming by the end on the month. Not sure when I'm placing the order, but it's soon.
