Re: need ideas for a summer tire

Just picked up some 17x8 +25 5zigens, trying to find out what size tires to put on them, and what would be a good summer tire that will look good for rolling on.

Falken is going to discontinue the ST115 soon, they havent decided when it will stop. Reason being is because they integrated the ST115's design with the FK451 and created the new FK452 which will be the successor to the ST115 & FK451. I dont know why they are going to do this (they sponsor us for Formula D).

Ive seen the new FK452 and they are NICE.

For summer and winter, the ST115 is/was the best deal especially if u want something that runs quiet (minimal road noise).

But if your looking for summer only, RT615. By far the most grippy tire Ive ever driven on, but what Ive heard is that they run very poorly in the winter. Down side to the 615 is low tread wear rating also, but thats what u get for having such a sticky tire. Another down side to the 615 (to me personally) is that u have to buy a smaller size tire to fit on the rim. Falken created the 615 the same way Cooper makes their tires... and that is, make a 245 size tire and sell it as 225.

Back to subject, Recommendation, ST115 (while they still carry them) for all season highend performance. Or RT615 if and only if it is summer use only (another note, unless you have pretty decent power, dont drift with 615, too grippy for cars with near stock hp).
