rear brake help :(

alright my mechanical skills are quite remedial, but i thought i'd be able to handle the rear brakes, but i can't for the life of me push that piston thing (?) back far enough to get the new pads in. am i doing something wrong? so far i took out 2 bolts to get the caliper off, and those 2 other bolts, 1 little bolt to get rid off the fluid even. i left the parking brake and the brake hose bolts on. i damn near broke my c-clamp trying to get enough room for the new pads. help please.

You have to push AND twist the piston back in. Autozone rents a tool (brake caliper tool).
