? rusty rotors ??

I have a set of brake rotors that have been setting in my garage for about a year - and i need to replace the rotors on my car - but the rotors (in garage) have developed some surface rust - is this a problem - should i have them turned - sand or polish off the rust - or just put them on and let the pads take off the rust w/ a few hard stops? i appreciate any input in advance - thanks

just stop normaly from 10mph then 20,30 untill all or most of the rust is gone. It shouldn't be a problem.
