springs or ground control kit?

hi I am just searching for idea about what should I get about the spring? should I just get lowering spring like tein S tech and eibach sportline or should I get ground control kit with coilover sleves and Eibach ERS spring. I know there is a hugh price difference but is the ground control kit that much better?

any recommandation for shocks selection are welcome

those coil sleeve things suck. go with a lowering spring and some shocks or just get a good set of coil overs (real ones)

Yup that what I would do.

Right, because sleeves aren't real coilovers, just like your factory setup isn't a real coilover...

Konis & Ground controls will be better then 95% of the "real" coilovers that are sold for these cars.

But, if you're not going to be racing the car, I'd go with a set of Konis and your choice of moderate lowering spring.

Skip the AGX, they don't last very long.

Correction, AGX's don't last very long on aggressive spring rates.

true, if you consider stock springs aggressive.

does anybody know the ideal spring rate for each brand of shocks. I know the stock spring is around 121lb/in and the tokico shock has a ideal range of 150-160lb/in. so tein is already too hard for tokico I think

AGX's can handle aftermarket springs like Tein S-Tech, Whiteline, and Eibach Sportlines. We have a few guys running the AGX + spring combo and they drive them pretty hard. However if you step into the stiffer range i.e. RS-R Race springs, then the springs are too stiff for AGX and you're better off with some Koni's.

AGX with stocks last also, but who'd want to go halfway?

speaking from personal experience, I had a set of Tein S-Techs with GR-2's and they handled it pretty well... the mountain runs felt pretty good (not awesome, but good enough). This was on an S14, BTW.

No actually it was pretty comfortable during daily driving... when I bought the car the seller nor I knew that the previous owner (I bought it from a broker) installed GR-2's and Sprint springs. I only found out it had GR-2's when I first installed the S-Tech's

Just out of curiousity, do you plan on driving the car hard, or do you want to just lower it the right way?

I dont' really care about lowering it. I am not going on track either. just that my shock is 14 years old and I decided to change it now. but all my friends give me different opinion and confuse me hella. and the main point is. I am hella broke but still want something better than stock
