strut tower stress

Hi, I just bought my s13 and I was planning on buying a set of kyb agx's with some stech springs or eibach springs. The only problem is my strut towers are starting to rust where the tower connects to the rest of the body. My question is will the stiffer springs lead to more stress on the strut towers, causing the rust to get worse? Is there anything I can do to prevent the rust from spreading, such as a strut tower brace? I've searched for help on this one, but came up with nothing. Thanks for the help

the strut tower brace will not stop the rust from spreading, btu it will stiffen up your shock towers, and chasis, thoguh i dont think it will stop a spring from comin thru if they are rusted that thin..... to stop the rust, sand prime and paint so that there is none left. if you have to grind the metal down so thin to get rid of teh rust you will need to weld new strut towers in.... good luck

Well the rust is still pretty thin, so I'm not worried about the spring coming through. I was just thinking of it causing more problems in the long run. I was planning on sanding it out and putting some sort of rust stopper on it, I've heard that some rust stoppers work well.
