super hicas?

i just purchased a 91 240 fastback, its clean for the year and seems mechanically solid. But it has super HICAS on it with abs and lsd. I found out the hicas system is a form of four wheel steering. Im just wondering if it will interfere with me lowering the car or adding other suspension upgrades. I want to start drifting in the car, and i wasnt sure if i could with the four wheel steering.

You can it just gonna behave a little different than a non-HICAS car would. there are also kits to eliminate them or you can save about 40 Lbs and buy a new rear subframe

It'll be fine

if i get a new rear subframe will i need to do anything with wiring, i heard it is electronically controlled. also is it just the suspension parts that need to be swapped or a whole new part to the frame, and i assume these are parts i can find in a wrecking yard. or should i try to get them from the far east?

Well i dont know if theyre are any differnt problems then a regular 240 because not many people have em at all. HICAS models are very rare...ive only knows 1 other person that has one.

yeah, my 93 is a HICAS as well. they are damn rare, I haven't seen another 240 HICAS edition. (althought mine doesn't have the ABS, heh)

Lowering the car is no different, nor is any other suspension. I've put KYB AGX's & Eibachs, changed tie rod ends, strut bar and i'm in the process of saving for whiteline TC rods.

If you're seroius into drifting then I was told to disable to hicas. If not, then it's definately a plus to have, if you drive a 240 without the LSD and then one with you can tell the difference.

well i want to start getting into drifting, thats why i bought the 240, but if the hicas is rare i dont know if i want to take it out, i might find another one for a drifter and make this one a show car. also wondering if the hicas light on the dash is supposed to be on all the time?

Hmm i would just stick with the HICAS model, only reason i would get a HICAS model is kus it comes with the VLSD. Its a great drift car stock...just minus the HICAS lol. The car would still be rare..unless ur ganna sell the car later on then i would take out the HICAS

remember people.
some rear shocks wont work because of the adjustablilty.

removing the hicas is as simple as removin the rear rack, installin an eliminator. and switching power steering pumps.
