Tie Rod Problems....
Hey everybody,
Bought some tein tie rods and ends awhile back and I'm in the process of removing the stock ones. Removed the tie rod ends without any drama but I'm having problems removing the inner tie rods. I just can't get the damn things out. I followed the procedure as stated on the FSM but still no go. Suckers are on tight. Any ideas? Oh, this is for a '89 240.

You should be able to reuse your old boots. But, you will need something to secure the boots upon re-installation. The OE wire-straps aren't reusable. I just used zipties on mine... Other than that, you should be good to go....

make sure you knock off the clip holding in the tie rod from spinning.
If you didn't already do that, use a flat head and a hammper and get under it and priy it open the clip then you should be able to loosen the tie rod. Its gonna take all your strength. When i did mine i ended up lifting almost my whole body off the ground to bust it loose. I weigh about 180.. lol

i just finish installing my teins.. i didnt even use a tie rod puller.. i couldnt figure out how to use it, so i just used a wrench and some penitrating oils, and lots and lots of time... theres a part that prevents the tie rod from spinning and getting itsself undone, but i ended up bending that out of shape and so its not reuseable, but then again it was only on one side... yeah that part stanny boy is talking about, thats what prevents this from being a 20 minute install
