Alright so i've been reading left and right that the best way to clean rims is to get some simple green spray it on let it sit and just rinse and scrub it off. I've done that and it does take the dirt dust and grime off the rim but unfortunately it also seems like it's discoloring the rim or leaving a white powderlike substance behind and makes the rims look spotty and rough up close.

Has anyone had that happen? What is it and how do I get rid of it?

So far this is the second car I have that this happens to.

(note I have the 5 lug S14 SE)
