$2600 turbokit install? WTF?

Ive been looking forward to having a turboed KA by Feb since last Nov. when i got my 240. I called B and T Motorsports in Lorton Va and ended up trying to perform the first slap via telephone line ever recorded. Im not sure who i spoke to but he told me that if I had all the parts needed for a complete kit that the labor would come to $2000. And since the Greddy kit comes with e-manage that's another $600. WTF? Its all bolt on! Granted they have a Dyno there but damn! Even if their rate is $75 per hour, that 26 hours to put a kit on? The description say less than 10 hours to install. He also said it would be done in 2 days which is extremely hard to believe. Im sure that my car is not going to be the only one that they work on while its there. I used to work at PepBoys so I know how shops work. Anybody know of a reputable shop around here that has worked on a KA-T before that you would trust? Im getting pissed off the more I think about this situation. I know ppl say that you can install the kits yourself but considering the shape my KA is in right now, I dont want to take the chance of messing is up. Detonation, anyone? So I need some HELP.
I'm in Woodbridge Va, BTW.

a bolt on is what it is a bolt on the only thing u need to do is tap an oil line for the turbo, 2600$!!! god dam thats more than i paid for my car lol. now tuning is a different storry but im sure any "tuner" mecanic can hook u up.i suggest u put it on and then dont mess with fuel leave 7psi then u go to a shop and let him mess with fuel and a/f ratios, thats what i would do.

Hell you could get another turbo kit for that price. Better yet just go and buy another oil pan and have it taped and throw the one thats on the car in the corner and install the kit yourself. You would still be saving $2300 doing it that way. Come on man its not that hard at all. I think adjusting the valves is harder than a turbo kit install.

Or of course you could just buy another 240sx for that amount and drive it into the place that suggested you pay that much. I would try to do it myself before I ever would let a shop touch my car.

Bro, a typical engine swap labor charge is around $1500.. .and you don't need to pull the engine out at all when installing a turbo kit. With the exception of the oil line, the rest is basically bolt-on, like chiroke said.

Looks like they don't know what they're doing AND are ignorant about the parts... or they're trying to screw you over (hahah - charge you $2600, bring the car to someone who knows how to do the job for $1500, then give your car back to you and they made $1100 as a "referal fee")

I'd find someone else to do the job if you can't do it yourself... and I'd never call that $2600 place again.

It took me two weeks to install the Greddy T kit w/cooler. The hardest part will be cutting the frame of the bumper to make the IC fit. Do it yourself, that's way to much money. Im in GA if you are close to my area I will help you.
