Dang so many views but no reply, i dont know much about custom turbos. as far as custom turbo you can find all the correct pieces you need at ebay but be xtermely careful when purchasing. you might need a piggyback like greddys e-Manage. im thinking about the same thing in the future itll give you a hella of alot more hp than a sr20det because of the ka's 2.4L. if your going to do this take a look at what products companies are using for the installation for a turbo on the 240sx, what i mean by that is to look at what turbo companies are using like if its a td06 or something else the and make sure you get an exhaust manifold that can nicelt bolt on the turbo do the research . im still researching. i dont know if i can help you any further. Good luck
Peace

I'll make it short and sweet.

-Find your overall power goals
-Search for more information on what all goes into a turbo system
-Research what turbo will hit your goal
-Figure your budget and shop around
-Ask if you have questions.

Romey put up some good points. only things i'll add would be the turbo manifold flanged for ur particular turbo application (obviously), turbo oil feed and return lines, and maybe some guages to keep an eye on things (boost and oil pressures, a/f ratio, water temp...).

building own turbo kit? iv built my own turbo kits since i started owning nissans. First Off, buy ApexI SAFC, hacked or Z32 MAF, 370cc or higher injectors. You need hotpipe, downpipe, manifold, IC piping, oil feed lines, i recommned better fuel pump (Walbro 255LBS pump), water, air/fuel, boost guages. Possibly even a deltagate/tial 35mm. Retard the timing, and your all set. I wouldnt reccomend boosting it though on stock internals. If you plan on making it run more efficently purchase a wideband o2 system. have fun

my contour was preaty fast about 190+ to the wheels i was doing about 90 when some jack *** slamed his brakes and i had to try to evade him that was a bad idea i over steered to the left so i had to correct it when i did that it was all over i hit him and he pushed my car till it fliped over and rolled few times.

so now am dumping 6 grand in this 240sx i got a lot of stuff for it already i just need to know were it all goes.

If you plan to search for a turbo, the best bet is to learn how to read compressor maps and it will help you find which turbo is most efficient for your car and what hp you're looking for. I learned how to read them from "Maximum Boost" (great turbo book). Also for the turbine, try to find a split inlet housing turbine because they are designed for smaller cylinder engines.

I am currently in the process of building my custom turbo kit. i don't, by the way, the Greddy E-manage can work on OBD-I as long as you specify when you order from Greddy. At least that i what I think, the only reason people think they are for OBD-II is because of the recently released Greddy trubo kit that utalizes the E-manage for 96 and up 240s. That is what I was planning on going with, if not you can get the JWT ECU with a SAFC and you will be ready to go. If you get the JWT ECU then you can buy the 93 Cobra MAFS and JWT will program the ECU and send you a harness for the cobra MAFS
