FMax turbo kit

Just wondering if anyone is running a stage one fmax turbo kit and what they think of it. My friend stands by the fact that they are really great and they offer a one year warranty which i thought was pretty nice.

What it comes with:

-Turbonetics T3/TO4E Hybrid Turbo
-Thermocoated cast-steel turbo manifold
-thermocoated mandrel-bent downpipe
-turbokenetics evolution 35mm wastegate
-3" 16 guage madnrel bent intake pipe
-Spearco W.A.V.E frount-mount intercooler
-Nissan 370cc Fuel injectors
-Turbokenetics raptor BOV
-K&N air filter
-(1) case of sythetic turbo oil
-all hardware and instructions.

Plus a free ball bearing upgrade...

Keep in mind this is only good for 8 pounds of boost, which is all i really need to run right now.

so im guessing no ones running this kit?

Fast1One 04-23-2005 04:43 PM

:dunno: Most people piece theres from scratch from what Ive seen and it comes out cheaper. Search the forum a little bit. Greddy is another choice. I trust them. 3100 but ive seen some places under 3000. Thats WITHOUT intercooler.

Yea, doing everything from scratch is always cheaper. ****e, you can do a whole turbo set up + FMIC + fuel management for $3k.

Fast1One 04-23-2005 10:53 PM

Whatever you do, you better rebuild your engine first or check to see if it is running in great condition. You boost a motor that is not running right somethings gonna break

Cossey 04-23-2005 10:59 PM

:werd: Always make sure everything is 100% before do any mod. The modification will only make the problem worse, and the diagnosis harder.

Fast1One 04-23-2005 11:07 PM

^^^Any major mod. A new exhaust or intake wont cause catastrafic detonation. Main concern is "NNNNAAAAAAAAAWWWWWSSSSSS" (sorry had to do it  ) and forced induction.

Yea, there's some kids around here w/ their "drag" Integra that runs high 11's. Before, when it was in the 13's, it ran like ****. They said "Oh crap, it's detonating. Let's throw on a 150hp shot!" This is the same kid that in my auto class, put the camshaft in the crankshaft area. I went up to him and said "Oh ****, this thing's a 12 cylinder?!?!" Yea, it was an old Chevy V6 12V lol.

haha seriously i already know all this stuff, although it says newbie, i am definitely not a newbie to turbos and cars....

Iwas just wondering about a kit because my friend talked so highly of it.

Plus piecing together a turbo can be a time consuming thing, i know a guy whos doing one for a civic, and hes spent over 4000 dollars... *shrug*

ryoisaguri 04-24-2005 07:12 AM

But then again, he also has a more unique kit than any "made for you already kit"....its all in what you want

Cossey 04-24-2005 09:18 AM

$4000 for a DIY kit? Let me guess, he bought the Full-Race manifold lol.

ryoisaguri 04-24-2005 03:46 PM

Too be honest with you he makes mistakes, just like everyone else.

Cossey 04-24-2005 05:14 PM

???
Full-Race is a company. Their manifolds look fockin sick.
