If your Lazy Like me get the kit. Rebuild your engine and get the stage II and boost it to 30 PSI :naughty: :bigok: :thumb:

Edit: With 4000 you could piece yours together with upgraded fuel system and get much more power than the stage 1

Cossey 04-24-2005 08:26 PM

****, w/ $4000, you can piece together your own kit w/ very good parts and a fuel system. Let's price out a kit right now.
Manifold-$600 at most.
Turbo-$800
Pistons-$400
Rods-$500
Wastegate-$300
BOV-$200
Oil lines, miscellaneous gaskets-$250
ARP head studs-$125
Fuel pump-$110
Injectors-$325
FPR-$130
S-AFC-$300
Downpipe-$225
-------------------------
$4265

That's if you go w/ good, new parts.

Used parts list:
Manifold-$300
Turbo-$400
BOV-$30 for 1G DSM
Wastegate-$200-225
Injectors-$150, but you must get them cleaned
FPR-$50
Fuel pump-$70
Downpipe-$150
Everything else, get new.
--------------------------
$2950

^^^^ Um, you forgot the intercooler and piping add about 300-600 to that list. If you really want to be serious port and polish head (Maybe 300-500 :dunno: ) Then cams. 500 for PDM racing turbo cams but it says its only good for 18 PSI. Anyone want to clarify that? Also reccomend another fuel rail JWT. Not sure the price of that one. MAFS from a z32 another 100. Tuning a lot of dough. By the way thats if you do all of the work yourself. Than you need labor costs if you need help on he bottom end lets say. Labor is bank! Do the math you GET:

HORSEPOWER=EXPENSIVE

i though stage II was up to 17 psi? and stage III was after 17psi with fuel management and one other thing.

Forgot about IC piping. I'd just make my own or have a friend make them anyways, along w/ the manifold and downlpipe. You don't need to do any head work in order to run a turbo kit at decent levels of boost safely. Head work is where you will gain the most power though, if you're not running forced induction. For head work, you'd need to port the head, polish the exhaust side, little bit on intake, cams, valve springs, retainers, valves, etc. Labor is what will kill you on the pricing, especially if you go to one of the only speed shops in the area. APG Motorsports, in Albany, NY charges out the @$$ for labor. My friends shop, REV Industries is much better on pricing.

I trust Greddy myself, considering how long they have been around, im really only looking for something that can keep up with the new cars on the road today, and have something nice for daily practicality. It sucks that you have to buy the intercooler and BOV seperately for the Greddy stuff....that makes the full kit around 4000....not even including a better fuel pump, and turbo timer. Though i have heard good things about the emanage system.

Cossey 04-25-2005 12:29 PM

Turbo timers aren't really needed, they're just a conveinience. I personally don't mind the manual turbo timers =).

ryoisaguri 04-25-2005 01:21 PM

True that, though my friend has an electronic one for his evo and he loves it to death, its a convenience that would be nice :D.

Btw have you heard anything good about the emanage system that comes with the greddy kits?

Cossey 04-25-2005 02:15 PM

Eh, both good an bad. The ne e-Manage I guess has timing management also, which would finally make it an EMS, I think. The current GREddy e-Manage is pretty much just a a higher end S-AFC. You have no control over timing. I know on some (not many) platforms, the S-AFC is fine for tuning up until anything beyond street use. The thing about it is that it just lies to the stock ECU, which is not good.

Fast1One 04-25-2005 03:30 PM

The thing that im worried about is the legalty of all this crap. Obviously it is illegal but I want to find a way to hide everything. Iv heard about some 240sx owners going to smog their cars and running their motor lean. Pass smog. Even then youll still fail the visual test. Which is why want to go custom that way I could do whatever I want with the placement of the snail :thumb:

ryoisaguri 04-25-2005 08:53 PM

thank god i live in alabama =)

Fast1One 04-26-2005 12:14 PM

^ Damn You!!! I live in Cali! Does anyone have an awnswer for my ?

ryoisaguri 04-26-2005 01:15 PM

Your probably better making another post on this, cause im not sure....anythings allowed to drive on these roads. This guy who owns a tuning shop down here has 2 skylines and the dmv down here doesn't give a **** about the cars....its really weird...they will register it in alabama.

The only thing their picky on is that if you bring a car over, that you bring it through the ports in mobile,....

Of course you cant live anywhere else but Bama with the car...but there is a rumor that georgia will 50 state legalize any car...weird.

Cossey 04-26-2005 01:21 PM

Vermont will do it too. All you need there is a P.O. box. NY is starting to adopt Cali-emissions crap. Thank god I'm moving to NC.
