Getting ready to push up boost.
#16
How far can I push (safely) my engine (via boost or anything else) with stock brakes and suspension? Is there a point where I wont be able to control my car very well with stock? I'd like to work on that stuff after I reach my satisfactory horsepower level... which will probably be after I get my fuel system done and new turbo put in. But I'd rather not hit the gas and have **** fall apart or hit the gas and have my brakes not work when I reach the end of my run lol.
EDIT: Sorry, I just didn't really want to make a whole new thread for this question cause it kinda deals with my original question about the fuel.

yea no sense in gettin ur ecu tuned before boosting it, just have everything lined up that way u can get it tunned prior to gettin the turbo kit on, dont want to be running around to rich or lean...and yes turbo size sort of has something to do with it because size it what influences lag, spool up time, max boost and so on...

Ok, I've decided to upgrade my turbo instead of just pushing up the boost on the stock.
Heres what I have planned to buy so far:
z32 MAF
550 injectors
Walbro Fuel pump
ECU tunning
S15 T28 Turbo
From everything I've read this should be enough for the upgrade.
I've read different things saying the MAX you can get out of your car with a T28 is 300hp. Is that very most you can get or is that the most you can get if you only upgrade the turbo?
Also, I know someone here has a T28 in their s13. Is all there to do is take out the T25 and put in the T28? Everything hooks up stock with out any mods? I've read people say you dont need any mods and I've heard people say I need to get braided lines and such.

im putting mine in this weekend so ill let u know, but yea u definately need new turbo oil/coolant lines. Also the bottom piece where the oil goes back into the block, the holes dont line up but i hear u can just take a circle file to it and its fine. Also the piple that comes out of the compressor size may have to be moded or replaced, ill let u know on that part, other than that though its all good.

You still won't get 350hp out of an S15 Turbo, but what you are shooting for is good.
I had the Following in my car before I fully built it and was at 320Whp
S15 T28
Greddy FMIC
Power FC
R33 MAF
Nismo Fuel pump
Nismo FPR
820cc injectors
264 cams with a 9.5mm lift
Tubular manifold Full stainless steel GP Sports exhaust
Split Fire Coil Packs
hand made aluminum suction pipe with Apex filter
There was a few more things but I Dyno tuned and street tuned and still only hit 320whp it was good enough the injectors were at 85% but the turbo was just about out of it range. I still ran down the 1/8 mile at 7sec~

Yeah it was pushing it but 1.4 was the max I ever boosted it. I just kept it there all the time the turbo lasted I sold it and the guy who bought it is still usning it to this day. I have seen 1.9 pushed through a Stock GTI-R turbo

Nah I had the S14 to start out with Same mods listed I never could get it over 295whp that was at 1.2kg/cm2 this was a brand new turbo, There are slight differences in the S14-S15-GTI-R turbos they are minor but enough to make that kind of a difference. I could try and find the comparision that my buddy did give me some time.
