Help with 300ZX Turbo Setup.

Ok guys , im thinking about turboing my 95' KA24DE in my 92' 240sx.

I have the Following Parts.

- Tial BOV
- T25 300ZX Turbo with internal Wastegate
- Spearco FMIC ( not that big but i think it would be better than a stock sidemount)
-SR20DET Fuel Injectors off of a BlackTop

I understand that i would need to get a manifold for the turbo , and then piping for everything , after all that would there be anything else that i need in order to get this running right? i was planning on only running like 7 Pounds of boost , just enough to get a better kick out of my 240 , my engine has around 70 k Miles on it and the engine does not leak any oil anywhere.

I also understand that i will have to reroute my battery to my trunk...hmm it sounds like it would be hard , does anyone have any experience with this setup or knows someone who has done this any help or tips would greatly be apreciated thank you all.

How about tuning?

ECU Retune .. SAFC .. Megasquirt?

there's a lot more than just sticking a turbo in a KA.

+ once you turbo, it'll be a project car and it'll give you headaches left and right.

Battery Relocating is cake, you can buy kits for cryingoutloud.

there is a shop around here www.xatracing.com that will reflash my ECU , but from what im told it wouldnt be too bad of a drive without rom tuning. the SAFC is going to be expensive..... but does anyone by chance know what the TIAL BOV sounds like? i have it and i was hoping it would be quite.

Your spending hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars on the turbo setup, but you won't spend an extra 200 on an safc. I can't believe how many people have been trying to skimp on fuel management. On a budget setup, the single most important component is fuel management. The idea of a budget setup is to spend the least amount reasonable for a turbo setup, while maintaining engine reliability so you aren't forced to spend gobs of cash you don't have on a rebuild. Fuel management is a MUST.

Just take the car to a dyno and have the shop tune it with a wideband.

just take it to xatracing for your tuning and ask them questions if they are local, those guys know 240's better than i do my own hand..

ok, but now that i see my friends cars their 240s run into alot of problems. and Problems involve money so i found a deal a Pacesetter header for 100 dollars , im goin to prolly just install that and run it and save up for awhile for the SR swap or something. right now i have stock header with the cat then custom 2.5" all the way back to a Apexi N1 n/a Muffler. should i get a test pipe or just take the cat out and run tubing from there back. I dont want the Honda Noise , someone told me to do 3" header back... but i dont think my muffler would be good for that , any suggestions?

The safc is really easy to tune. It took less than an hour to dyno tune my supra with the safc-II. And it is a must to tune your car. My car was running stupid rich that when we were tuning it, the fuel had a negative 19 correction factor....THAT IS HUGE!!! I regained 90 rwhp that was lost from my mods. But I would suggest taking it to a shop and having them do it if you are not familiar with saftey zones (a/f ratios etc.)

The tial bov is not loud, but also depends on where you are going to place it.
