I'd say the HKS is good for 400HP. Rough estimate, not sure about it though. Most brand name FMIC's are good for that amount. I know GReddy has is V Spec and R Spec FMIC's, the V is good for up to 400HP, and the R is good for 400HP+. Have you looked at HKS's website yet?

Also, since you seem to have a good knowledge of high HP cars with your DSM, as long as you keep your A/R in check, do basic maintenance, I gauruntee your SR will do you justice. It loves to run, and the 240SX in general is a very reliable, tough car in itself. You won't hear anything about crankwalk either.

Usually the 7- bolt motors get crankwalk(93-99) and the 6- bolt (90-92 ) are pretty safe. mine's a 92, so hopefully she will hold together.

Yep thats what I've heard. My buddy had a 2nd Gen GSX and swapped out his to a 1st Gen after it walked on him. The 4G is a great motor, it can just be finnicky sometimes.

Question Chris.......do the 4G's have problems cooling the internals also? I heard awhile back that no matter how much you play with the engines internal cooling abilities it just has a hard time cooling the engine properly. True or not?

I don't know about the upgrading potential for the cooling system, but anything longer than a quarter mile and my temp guage gets dangerously high. I went street racing just outside of boston ma and the way they do it down there is block off highways at 2 : 00 am and run just over a half mile and my car got way too warm at the end of that. i haven't bothered upgrading anything in that area, but my car is basically a 1/4 mile drag car only. i drive the car on the streets, but the abuse comes on the track in short bursts. if i was roadracing i would research better cooling. so im not exactly sure. while were on this topic, how will my s13 sr20 do for cooling? are there upgrades for that motor???
