Intercooler Advice

Hello everyone. Im proud to be a fellow member of the rb owners club. I recently bought an RB20 to drop into my s13 and decided on +300whp. Im gonna give it a shot with the Z31 turbo, but if that won't take me there, I WILL go bigger. Im actually shopping around for an intercooler. Im not sure what core dimensions are recommended for mounting on the S13. I found a number of them, including:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=7986719273

I have a friend that specializes in mandrel bending so the piping won't be an issue. Any advice, feedback and recommendation is appreciated. Thanks!

why does everyone think FMIC is the best way to go?

There's V mount..where the Radiator doesn't get blocked off and if u add a cowl hood..it gives more air to the Intercooler.

You can even run L mount.

The point is..I don't think Front Mount is not the smartest way of doing it, but it's the easiest.

once the rb goes in there isnt much room for a lot of those choices. unless you want to do some cutting and fabbing. when i put my rb25 in i had inch to inch and half clearance from the edge of the power steering pulley to the fans. clearly i took an easier route and did a front mount.

im pretty sure its all personal prefernce. i went with a fmic because it was easy and it can hold an *** load of hp.

v mount is a cool setup because its kinda rare.

That sounds sweet, I definitely wanna see pics of that setup, especially before the bumper goes back on.

You probabluy have an sr20 or a ka-t right? The rb20 is much bigger. I am going to go with the second one I listed. What do you guys think?

if your gonna use ebay. make sure the seller has a good rating as in doesnt have many or no complaints. negative feedback that is. then pick what will fit, choose the type you want as in bar and plate tube and fin, get one that has mounts on them already if your not gonna weld them on yourself.

call a spearco dealer they can help you with proper sizing for your goals.

a FMIC is one of the best coices due to ease. and honestly witha proper rad and yours stock fan shroud you will be better off in the long run
