nitrous on sr20det

some engines react differently to spray , well i am about to do the sr20det into a 240sx. i was planning on spraying a 55 shot. does anyone else spray on thier sr? is there any real danger to the motor with such a small shot?

As long as you run a wet kit you should be fine. i would like to spray my SR some time too. I don't know why more people dont do it.

Because you could just upgrade the turbo and injectors and get that amount of power all the time. Plus it would be about the same price. You already have a turbo just throw some more boost at it. Of course there are a few other mods you may need but I would much more prefer a larger turbo setup than nitrous.

werd. Power should be readily available, not when the bottle is full.

From my drag racing days I learned that the only suggested way to use nitrous with a turbocharged car is to combat turbo lag when your car has some huge top-end tuned turbocharger. THe nitrous would be used at the lower end of the RPM scale to give you power BEFORE the turbo boost kicks in. Of course, this is elementary for turbo drag racers, I don't know how it would benefit on a road course car, let alone a drifter.

you can nitrous like dragsters and spray right onto the intercooler to make it damn cold.

When I was drag racing I had my purge aimed at an angle to spray the NOS across the intake manifold runners... it was tricky to aim it just right so that I wouldn't accidentally freeze up a rubber hose or something else important.

But yeah, a lot of people who are boosted run their purge line to the front of the car into a spray bar mounted in front of the IC. I know Zex makes a specific spray bar for that purpose; but I've also seen some nice installs where the purge line split into two angled jets that were mounted to the underside of the front bumper, aiming into the IC. Think windshield sprayers, but upside down and shooting NOS purge instead of windshield washer fluid
