I dont need a junkyard motor to rebuild yet, I still have a cavalier to drive until my sister gets her license. I can do all the labor myself, my dad is a mechanic and our garage has every tool I could possibly need in triplicate. I'm gonna do a wet test tomorrow to see if the readings go up, hopefully they dont and it's the gauge thats messed up.
*EDIT*
If i add oil to the cylinders and the pressure doesnt go up, can it even be the valves? I was under the impression that if valves are the reason for low compression the results for each cylinder would be all over the place. All my cylinders are very even in compression.

By 5 times do you mean crank, stop, crank, stop, etc? because I didnt do that. I did let it turn over 4 times to begin with and compression came out to like 140, so I cleared the gauge and cranked it 6 times, and it was at 150, then I cranked it 10-12 times and it still gave me 150. I also held the gas pedal down.

a leak down test will help you in determining if your problem i valve related or rings. but based on the reading being all the same i'd say it's not the valves.
it's gotta be the rings.

yea im your shoes also, i read 150, but my motor still fells strong. im just gonna buy a whole new short block when it dies, jordan got one for like $800 and you ship your old block out to em. pretty good deal.

I mean KA motors are fairly cheap. I'd weigh the options. You might be able to get another KA motor for cheap, build it up over time until your motor goes, and then swap out when it does, and run it...
Or you could just replace everything on the motor you have now, but unless you have another mode of transportation, it might mean borrowing a car or buying a cheap one during the down time.
...or I guess you could just run it as it is. I don't know if I'd trust it though. One bad thing can lead to another: Throw rod, bend valves, etc etc.
In the end it's probably going to be based on how much money you're willing to spend and what your goals are. I've thrown around a lot of money and had to learn the hard way. Lol. Good luck though! let us know what you do!

Well im staying with 7PSI, so I have some soul searching to do. I may just replace the rings. I will keep you posted though. It seems like everytime I have a deal to buy a turbo part the seller flakes, so maybe its God telling me to do the rings first.
