putting a turbo on

i was wondering if i could run a turbo on my ka24de at low pressure (5psi - 7psi) without forged pistons or new valves or new head gasket. the engine has about 200,000 on it.

you would only need a mental head gasket and arp head studs... but if you got 200,000 on it you might as well rebuild with forged pistons.. ect.ect..

Gee, get a compression/leak test first. If you're 150-170ish straight across, then you should be fine for low boost. I'd say around 8-10lbs. No more than 10. 10 is even pushing it.

What sort of #'s would be produced by 8lbs of boost?? i'm guessing around 175-180hp. If this can be done with out internal mods I may consider starting a new savings account...lol.

Can't really tell until it's on the car, you know? It's like buying a pair of speakers in a store, and asking them how they're gonna sound in the car. Maybe you can get a good idea, but you really won't know until you actually put them in the car.

Like they been saying....u don't need prep if your gonna run low boost. If you wanna boost it big u need to rebuild it forged style.
