Q's bottom end and internals
i comb this forum and not to mention other forums for as much information possible. i am in the process of turboing ka and was wondering about the life of the engine. for simplicity purposes the engine has 90k on it. i am planning to replace the rods and pistons, of course all forged and lower comp pistons. i was wondering if this could add maybe more life to the engine. i wasnt too sure because i was looking to replace the rods and pistons to run about 15 psi but if this does not really help the engine should i just save up some money so i can redo the bottom end plus rods and pistons and thus at that point be able to run 20 psi and have an expected longer life as long as the tuning is all good (i won't tune it myself becuase im not too good of a tuner). if i can expect longer life out of the engine with just rods pistons gasket injectors etc. than i would rather save the money that i wouldnt spend on the bottom end and spend it on maybe a sick **** paintjob.
any info or links that can be provided would be greatly appreciated thanks.

When you say bottom end your talking about the crank. In that case the crank on the KA is very robust. It can handle 400+HP. What you mentioned, rods and pistons, is a very good way to go. For 15lbs. I would myself go the extra distance if I had the money, to replace them as well.
