When is rebuilding bottom end needed?

With a SR red top, when is it necessary to build the bottom end stronger? Some people say a SR can handle a good amount of PSI and up to 400 HP on stock internals.

more like 260ish

you only need to rebuild when you pop.

other than that you should be fine unless you want 400hp

then you build

It depends on what you're doing with the motor, if you plan on running big power, don't waste your time with a stock motor, build it and get it out of the way initially. If you plan on upping the boost a few times to go play, as long as your tune is conservative and you're smart about it, you'd be fine on a stock internal SR.

I don't plan on going too crazy. I was thinking my final product will be 300 to 350 but that is after I play with it for a while. My first goal is to just swap it in with a few goods like FMIC. After that, I will save up and get more goodies.

So I guess I will keep on tuning it with extra parts until I reach the 275 mark then I might get the internals done.

Right now I am still search about the little things.

y would u want to destroy ur motor on purpose....i hope u do know that if u blow a rod, theres always a good risk of having the poke through the side of ur block...which in that case....hello, new long block...

Then oh well, get another block. It's not blowing it on purpose, it's pushing it on a stock motor til it blows, you do have the option to turn the boost down, or keep your foot off the gas pedal.
