sr20det.....

newbie questions....

sr20det is 2L turbo engine. now is there a 2.4 turbo engine from factory? i am always the big displacement 4cylinder guy. i like big torque.

If you want something with more displacement you could do the RB25DET, its 2.5L

first thing, no. second thing, u could perhaps break ground and be the 1st person to drop a viper 8.0L V10 in a 240! now THAT'S torque fo' dat ***!! j/k like s13 said, if u wanna go w/ bigger displacement, look to the rb25 (or perhaps the rb26 )...

rb25/26 are inline 6, i want 4 banger. hmm.... maybe turbo a kd25, mayne drop in a sr20....

Well if your set on an inline 4 with 2.4L displacement, you don't have to look far. Just turbo the KA24 thats in the car already.

what does displacement actually mean? More torque?

If you want a very torquey 4, turbo the KA. And displacement is not torque. Displacement is the measure of the total size of the combustion chamber, so in a 4 cylinder it would be the sum of the four cylinders. Think of it like this, an SR20 displaces 2 liters, that is the same as the amount of pop in a 2 liter bottle of DNL. In general the bigger the displacement the more power.
