Yea e-Manage and S-afcII are popular for their capabilities and prices are very cost efficient

KA24DE turbo is better then sr20de cause the the torqe difference at 300hp (lets say your goal is 300hp)
the ka24de has 300hp 311 torqe on a 15psi
the sr20det has 300hp 282 torqe on 18psi
the ka24e has 300hp 322 torqe on 18psi

i just made up my mind when i found this on different forrum
blew my mind the ka24de is better then the sr!!!!!!

The ka motor is a stout one from the factory with one inherant weakness. The ringlands have been proven to be the first thing to go on the stock internals. This doesnt mean that the motor cant take more abuse, but it just means that a good tune is all the more crucial. You can safely run a stock KA at 9-10 lbs all day long if you are in an area with 93 octane pump gas. 12 is doable--but i wouldnt recommend it be an everyday occurance. Alot of this is based on how the shape of your motor is. High mileage doesnt mean necessarily that it wont stand up to it, but its all in how the motor was card for in tis 220k plus miles of use.
The turbo KA is a great motor to mathc with a t3/t04e. I wouldnt recommened running a 60 trim compressor in the stock motor--as you wouldnt be able to turn the boost up enough to get even close to the effieciency raneg--stick with the 50 tri--itll still make over 35-380 to the wheels no problem. Intercoolers are a must--if you want to dirve a 9.6:! motor with boost--there is no way it wont owrk--the greddy kit is a total rip off for t not having the i/c come with the ket---
the emanage is not very tuneable and the user freindlyness i non existant--the base maps from greddy suck ***, and you cant alter them--you have to start from scratch--if anything--go wit JWT fro plug and play, or if you build it--go full standalone. AEM is realeasing its new EMS for the ka motor as soon as the next 30 days--keep an eye out...

Are you guys saying that SOHC turbo is better for power, reliability, or are you just happy with yours?

Projex240, i thought that comp ratio is 8.5:1 stock?

oh no---the stock comp ratio is 9.6:1 stock on a KA motor. The sr is stock with 8.5 to 1.

The comp ratio isnt what kills your motor though. Detonation is.
My motor isnt going to be a 8.5 to 1 motor. It wilbe a 9:1 forged internal motor, or maybe a stock CR motor with custom piston--i dont know yet. Itll be nice to try a 9.6:1 motor to see what they can do for sure.

wait a minute, are u just bashing the eManage the way its maped out in the GReddy Turbo kit, or are u saying its junk all together?? cause if u buy the optional harnesses i know it has far more tunability than the SAFC and is still a fraction of the price as a stand alone!!

my kit is going to start off with an FMU, but i would like to get an eManage in the furture.

I also like the looks of the Greddy kit, especially now that you can get a new one for 2500. FYI, it does not include an IC unfortunately. It is a nice setup though and is CARB legal for all the Californianites.
