Question Turbo Dealer??

Hey everyone,
I'm new to the 240 world but I've always had an interest in them. I've been browsing around for a couple months looking thru the different nissan support websites such as this one and I have developed an extreme interest in installing a turbo in my ka24de. I have a '91 240sx with 60k on the motor and 160k on the body (FYI). While searching thru Nissan performance distributors I have noticed that websites who sell turbo kits for the ka24de have been failing out such as boostdesigns and boost evolution. I have searched thru threads and I am not getting a clear answer on which distibutor i should go thru. I have checked out phatka-t but there website doesn't detail their products much. So my question is which company can/should i go thru for safely acheiving my goal of 300-350hp (on occasions) but still be my daily driver.

All the one's you've mentioned has the ability to crack the 300hp mark but bolting on the kit and nothing breaking is another story. Greddy also makes a pretty good turbo kit for the ka24de. Most turbo kits are easily upgradable and if I were you get the base kit and work up from there. You would need to upgrade the fuel system, internals, and ecu among others to make the car a 300hp reliable daily driven car. Not saying the car shouldn't go that high but 240 est hp is a hell of a lot of hp with just a bolt on turbo kit. Just with the turbo kit you have 30 more hp on the same boost than the sr20. That's quite impressive!
If I were you call the companies and talk to the reps and which ever ones you feel have the best product go with them. It's your money and you should be the one deciding where the money goes.

remember all the stuff you have to have to install the turbo, the kit should come with most everything if you go that way. The choice is yours, make sure you do your homework. Look at costs, talk to reps, talk to people that have the kit etc. good luck

will the greddy turbo kit (or any kit for that matter) that is noted for the 95-98 240sx fit on my 91 240 or will there be problems?

im pretty sure there are problems as far as the frame getting in the way of the piping and something about the ecu interface(XXXX- I in the 95 and older ka24de and XXXX- II in the 96 and newer) and hooking up the e-manage piggy back,
my 2cents would be to learn absolutely as much as you can about turbo's and the ka24 before you jump into turbo(what im doing atm), else you're just asking for problems down the road
right now im thinking my best option would be a custom turbo kit(selecting and buying all the parts myself), and so far the hardest part seems to be the piping, everything else is pretty much bolt-on

I don't have anything to add, but check www.jtuned.com because there is a turbod KA on there website. I am looking around right now because I am "thinking" of turboing my KA, but I have to weigh the pros and cons compared to an SR. Feel free to keep us posted because I definitely have a vested interest in which one you choose.

Nothing corny about that, since you are putting out a few thousand dollars might want to know how things are working under the hood.

Wow I should come in this section more often. Ive been thinking of turboing the tired out KA and Ive come upon a great solution and I am very happy with my decision because I have great faith in what I am going to do. With having a 300zx TT sitting in my garage that belongs to my dad and getting to drive that car "occasionally" it is very very hard for me to be satisfied with an NA stock car. With 152XXX miles sometimes I just wonder how much more I can push this KA. I know Ive seen KAs with over 200XXX miles still running very strong but I can not let that happen to my car. I have decided to rebuild the tired engine and give it new life. Now your probably wondering well is he gunna turbo it or not, and yes it will be turboed, and it will produce 400rwhp at around 20psi very very soon. How am i doing this well Im not sure if Im allowed to say or not but if you want some turbos that produce some of the big numbers, check out inductionmotorsports.com and hit them up. Caution they only sell turbos and other parts, they do not sell turbo kits.
