Yeah even @ 8500 rpm.
Yeah even @ 8500 rpm.
remember, hp = Tq x RPM / 5252, and if I gain 500 rpm, and lose as much as 100 tq, know what, IM HAPPY WITH IT. and you dont lose HP, you loose tq
Now stop complaining about what I am gonna do and focus on what you are. now leave me alone

lets see, you can go 8000 rpm and be PUSHING it on regular cams, or you gan go 8500 on slightly shorter cams and make more power.

if you loose tq you lose hp too. but when you gain rpm, you gain hp. so if you gain a significant amount rpm while loosing only a couple tq, then you gain hp across a large span.
now, Like I said, I know what Im doing, and if you want to help, awesome, if you dont, its ok, leave me alone.
NOW! a big question.....
I know about the sr20ve... Is there any way to put the VVT onto a regular sr20det? probably an S14 sr. also, are there SR20vet's? how much more do they cost than regular det's?

ok, here is my plan, its not set in stone, its not even set in a puddle of water.
The whole root of the plan is in 2 guys I know that live in okinawa. They can go to a junk yard and get whatever engine parts I will need that are out of the ordinary.
If I get get a VET straight up for under what it costs for my other goofy options, then I'll do that.
IF the only thing special about the VET is the head and computer, then I can get the head from my guys in japan, and start off right away with an ecu (TEC-II probably). plop that on a regular S13 sr, if possible sans the head and computer, to save a little money.
If there are other parts, I will pay them to assemble the whole engine for me, possibly with aftermarket rods and pistons (Jun/Toda).
the whole reasoning behind this waste of time, energy and money would be to have overly big cams down low, and around 6000 rpm (approx) have them switch over to some very small, high rpm cams. this way, I can have all the high rpm fun I want, and keep some low rpm power.
