I wasn't trying to start an argument. I just get tired of ppl always boasting torque torque torque because its a KA KA KA. What are we comparing a KA to a Honda motor here? Either motor rocks, I'm just tired of the nonsense. If one more ignorant person calls the KA just a "truck" motor there gonna get it too. Sometimes I just get irritated.

hyjnx, you're a jerk.

Most Nissan motors are great, RB SR or KA. People say ka's a truck engine, I say that means she's got a plethera or torque, and an iron block, so chew on that.
I own a CRX and so far I like my si 1.6L engine, although she's already blown a head gasket. Honda engine's are generally pretty damn good as well. Much like 240's, they got the badass engine's in Japon!

bah... the KA IS a truck motor...

and a sedan motor (Altima/Stanza), and a coupe motor (240), and a hatchback motor (240 again), and an SUV motor (Xterra)...

lol, sil, now you're being a jerk.
just like all religions are now considered all equal paths to god, Nissan engines are all equal paths to success, sr or KA

if you're on a tight budget look into a CA! I think I said that ealier, but it's cheaper, and a good little engine, better gas mileage as well than your KA

I won't get pissed at you sil for that whole truck motor thing. You seem pretty cool. Santiago on the other hand is not.

Hahahahahaaaa............J/P kiddd.

And I wasn't debating whether or not the KA was a truck motor, because I know obviously what models Nissan put the KA into. But I was saying that ppl who right away dismiss it as crap because it was in a truck, are a bunch of chooches.

i feel u, man. what's funny though is that Nissan has a pattern of using the same motor in different types of vehicles. i mean, damn, look at the VQ35DE. it's in damn near EVERYTHING. just because u can find it in a Pathfinder or an FX35, does that make it a truck motor, too? yeah, i see what u mean. i used to have the same train of thought about the KA before i became educated.

btw, something that's really funny to me is that i've seen a few people putting SR's into Hardbody pickups, too. guess that makes them truck motors as well...

sorry to misinform you but the KA24DE and E found in the 240sx's frist appeared in cars before the trucks. also the truck based KA's are made in Mexico and have significant different insides than the KA found in the 240's which is made in Japan.

BOTH make great power
BOTH are great engines
BOTH have their advantages and disadvantages

but if you are shooting for just 220...i would say KA.

if your gona go junkyard style you should look into the buick gsx or somthing like that I dont actually know what the car was called but if you can find one of those in a junk yard they used a garret turbo and had a fatty front mount intercooler those would be good scrap parts if your on a budget

I researched this question extensively. It'll end up costing more to get a KA ready for that kind of power than to get a SR. It also requires a ton moretime and skill to rebuild an engine piece by piece than to buy a complete engine a put it in your car. The time it takes you to find all the pieces you need for the KA, you could save a few bucks and by the SR.
