What to do with $7k

Ok, I'm going off to basic training for the army in august. When i get out i'm going to have a nice fat check. I just sold my FC, and I'm trying to get some general plans laid out for when I get back. First, whatever it is, it's gonna be an S13. I'm debating on either being an absolute purest and doing an all out Sileighty conversion, or do some kind of RB swap. I don't know jack about these cars and sometimes the easiest way to figure stuff out is this. I'd like to hear what your idea of what you'd do with this amount of cash. The budget is 7k but I may be able to adjust it a little. Either way, throw some ideas at me.

Not exactly what I had in mind. Also, I'm looking for 300-400 rwhp. Just to keep that in mind.

sr swap... knix the sileighty idea. keep the pop ups. gt2871 and standalone. you'll hit your mark. you'll want cams too.

(gotta do fuel though)

basically what he said, sr20 with the normal stuff, a bigger turbo, nice fuel/management, and a good tune = 300-400 easy... for right around 7g's

most of the time i would say KA-T, but in this case i would go SR20 or RB25/RB26, if it were up to me i would go RB25......but your wanting a s13, so your better off with a sr20.

KA-T topmount + All Supporting mods.

Spend the rest on footwork and Clutch/Flywheel stuff.

Making 400hp is easy..

sticking it to the ground and making it work for you, is the expensive part.

What would a good turbo set up be, for an sr. I'm leaning that way, because I'm really digging a silvia or sil80 conversion.

gt2871r > disco potato > FP big t28

and by the way shayan... nothing wrong with a 2.0 SR. the head is better on it and it'll out flow a KA anyday. this is comming from a guy that wanted rb20... then ka-t and now sr.

no more bumping your gums with comments like that.

see i was going for a RB swap at first but a rb25 swap would cost you 8 to 9k if you have someone do it for you and you be getting 250 or so hp but if you put that money in the KA

have you ever driven a 300hp 240 becuase its scary learn how to drive it with the KA then do a SR swap and slowly build it up or else you'll end up killing yourself

This is true.........but what the SR lack's is Torque and thats were the KA kicks the SR in the a**..........i'm more of a torque guys, so i just went with the KA-T & i dont like the fact that your going from a 2.4L to a 2.0L .....if i were going to do a motor swap, i would go bigger in ( L ) Not lower, but thats just me......if your more of a REV kind on guy....then go with a SR or RB, the KA is not made to REV do to the fact that the head sucks and that it is a Stroker Motor.
If your going to go with the RB Swap, dont wast your time doing a RB20 swap.....if your going to spend the time and the money, do it right the first time and go RB25 or RB26.
