I believe the turbo from HT that sr180 is talking about is the same as the upgrade that can be found from Forced Performance. Its called the bigT28 upgrade, and has HP figures similar to what sr was talking about. Is the GT25R ball bearing Sil80guy? It sounds like that is the turbo for you since it fits what your looking for in spool up time and performance. The S15 turbo won't get you 400HP, but it will give you 300HP with proper tuning and such. I personally think the S15's turbo is somewhat over-rated. Even at 300HP, your at the turbo's limits, which is never a good thing. This would mean that the turbo would be at your maximum boost setting all the time. You really don't want that. Its alway good to have reserve on tap as far as the turbo is concerned. The main benefit to the S15 turbo would be minimal alterations to your existing setup, as it is a bottom-mount turbo and would replace your existing T25.

Is that the same turbo I see advertised on Phase2? Depending on the A/R you can get either 400HP or 450HP. And with some modifications to the motor mount it fits on the stock manifold.

I don't think so. The one I am talking about is also known as the Disco Potato. And I think it is rated at 350hp, but it spools like carzy.

It may make it a little easier if the turbo bolts dircectly to the sr manifold but depending on what application the turbo is used for, some won't fit. I am about 99% sure that mounting the turbo up in the air has no effect.

I heard that SCC gave the "disco potato" great reviews. I like the compressor side of the GT25 ball bearing but I think that the T25 exhaust housing is still too small. Before I got my 240SX I had a Civic with a SOHC D16 and a T-3 on it, and it spooled just fine, about 3500-3700 which was great for highway because it wouldn't boost all the time and eat gas. Being the Sr20 is a 2.0L and the D16 a 1.6, I don't see why not the T3/T4 Hybrid or GT35 with A/R's in the 60's wouldn't kick @$$?
