Now im not against not having front plates but i live in colorado, and one neight my neighbor 3 houses down (about a 11 year old girl) or something was walking home and was hit by a drunk driver. The only reason he was caught was because his FRONT license plate fell off and the police had that to catch him. Now if he didnt have one then he would of never paid the price. The little girl lived but had horrible brain damage. A few years later she eventually died do to suffacation when she was sleepin. So i say dont sign the petition.

It is true that some cases like this that the front plate is a good thing. Yes there are ups and downs, but to me, I think it would help out to not have them because cops use this citation code to make their monthly quote. If they are too damn lazy to look for speeders (which they are) they find ppl who have no plates or relocated plates and cite them, this is what cops use to avoid doing their actual duty (i.e. monitoring excessive speeders, answering dispute calls at buisness and residential locations, etc.)

Im not trying to knock down ur view of this petition Blasko, its a key reason why we should have front plates; but to me, I want the Sac PD and Sheriffs to do their damn job instead of sittin around lookin for front plates all day not responding to more important issues.

Haha, yeah, the font plates do come in handy. It's usualy the first thing in the front to come in contact with any surface protecting the front of the car if it's just a scratch or tap.

A friend of mine did a total percentage poll of citations and what not for his last Criminal Justice class.

break down was something like this for the year 2003:
41% No front plate or modified front plate (i.e. plates were relocated or cut/trimmed wutever)
29% Speeding violations
The other 30% were from moving violations, parking tickets, etc.

Sux to kno that Cops in my area are more concerned about front plates than ppl who speed down residential streets at double the allowed speed limit, and responding to dispute calls. Hmm, maybe next time I have to call the cops for anything, I should make sure Krispy Kreme is within walkin distance... Maybe that'll get their asses movin to help me before I get beat down by haters or worse, get shot...

Now I'm not sure what I want...to speed or to have no front plate.
