car alarm choices
so nov 25, black friday, 1 month from christmas my car got broken into while i was at work. luckily the thief was fully retarded and didnt know how to steal correctly. they left the sub woofer that was just sitting in the backseat, didnt take any tools or the optima battery. all they took was all of my burned cds and broke my headunit and the damn expensive radio trim piece. i was going to get an alarm for christmas but now im looking into it earlier.
now onto my questions. ive been looking into the typical dei products, viper, clifford, etc. and i really like the clifford rsx 3.5x 2way and i've seen a few people on this board that recommend it. i also saw some pyle alarms that looked nice as well. does pyle compete w/ clifford at all? i understand that the higher the frequency for the alarm the better and most of th epyles i saw were 433mhz.
so any nice brands would be appreciated. im looking for a 2-way lcd keychain alarm b/c i want to be as sound of mind as possible. i would like something sub $200. (the pyles were about 130-140)
this is the pyle i was looking at for the most part: http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?...ore=&catid=297

the best alarm i have ever seen... well priced too... was called compuserve (i think)
I'll look it up and get back to you, i'm most likely going to buy this alarm. My friend has it on his (amazing) mr2 and it is awesome

i have a Viper 791VX works ok i guess never been set of but it has inputs for hood, trunk and door pins also comes with a knok sensor and you can add 1 or two more sensors. But it will not be 200 tho should be around 240 - 300 but then you have all the features you would ever need one more thing is that it has 3 outputs that you can use to pop yout trunk or whatever

yea those compustars have nice specs, im considering the first and 2nd ones on that page now. but i'd still like to get some more info on the pyle alarms and their signal distance as well as the clifford rsx 3.5x. i might have to bump up my price range for the compustar though

dude, for all the features you get with the compustar, i'm willing to spend $300... i can give you the link on that price.
The thing is amazing, he tested all the remote starts on that mr2 from far, far away... and it worked. If any windows get hit, it (almost) instantly pages the remote and tells you what was hit.
I would spend the little extra on a nice alarm, the vipers etc are great... i guess i'm just compustar bias

i have the audiovox 996 2 way paging alarm and i have no regrets. it's the same as clifford and viper but there are fewer add ons avail. and they are hard to find.
i'm still searching for a garage door opener.
