shelf in the trunk

Alright does any one know what that shelf lookin thing is that sits right behind the backseats in the trunk ? is there anything in there ? can speakers be mounted in there ? can is just be take out all together ? i kinda been looking at it but figured i would ask before i did alot of work for nothing and end up ****ing somthing up

its a coupe ... like if u fold the backseas down there is the opening to get to the trunk but it doesnt just drop straight into the trunk theres the shelf ... like right now i have my amp sitting on it ...then it drops down to the trunk n my sub box takes up most of that space

Um, that shelf-looking thing... that's right above part of your FUEL TANK! If you look under the carpet, on the right side of that shelf thing is the access panel to your fuel pump.

In other words, you can't remove it; and please, for God's sake, don't screw stuff into it
