Angry Wires All Cut Up!

well upon recieving my 1991 fastback base i noticed that the stereo was from a maxima or something. Its the two din with CDplayer. Neways i took it out becuase it wasn't working and found all the wires were cut up. The think black wire was still good (power i guess?). But the wires with different colors were cut up. I plugged in the black two prong wire and the thing sitll didn't work. Should it work?

If i connect all the wires to thier corresponding cut wires could this unit actually work? or no?. is there a fuse on the unit that i need for it to work?

Do ALL wires have to be connected for the power to just go on and check if its actually working. How do i check if its working or not?

SOMEONE GIVE ME A SOLUTION....and don't say ferget the radio!

thanks

Go get yourself a reverse harness from Best Buy, Circut City...wherever and bring the car back to factory status and go from there. If you need the factory color codes I can help you out with that too.
