I wasnt comparing it permformance-wise. I was comparing it class wise. Both are Luxury RWD cars. Always was waiting for the G35 to starting being drifted.

here in Vegas ive seen a very wide variety of cars come out to the drift events. Lets see..... Ive seen a Corvette Z06, Late 80's 5.0 mustang, Vintage Nascar, And a Ford Powerstroke diesel dually truck. All did actually pretty well except the vintage nascar(because of the fact that it was made only tp turn one direction) The guys who drove the Z06 usually drives a turbo miata at the events but his buddy let him use the vette. I couldnt believe how in control he was with that car going sideways.

an explorer drifting? hahaha dont use firestone tires!=rollover.
ken gushi is now sponsored by ford-got signed for 4yrs i think for a good amount of money and will be driving the new mustang as well. im sure older mustangs will be out on events. I saw an article on hot rod mag(i think) about drifting-didn't read the article, just saw the cover. i wouldn't be surprised if more domestic cars came into the drifting scene.

although im am a diehard import fan i think Them giving memebers of the team mustangs will bring more of the older crowd out to drifting events this spring and summer and also it will show some of the old cocky muscle guys that young guys are not stupid about cars

I think the reason that the Domestic cars aren't showing up at the Drift events is because of their Attitudes more than anything. They think that their Better and they don't have to prove themselves. Besides most of the Domestic drivers Can't Drive to begin with.. They only try to race us on the street and hide in shame once they lose. I've made a guy sell his Mustang once he was beaten by my 4 cyl. , 4 spd.(Not Stock Toyota truck(really!).
I know I'm gonna get some Haters for this but if it isn't true - then prove me wrong :P

Actually, one guy made me look at domestics differently. He has a 95 Camaro powers by an LT1 with basic bolt on pushing around 300 hp at the wheels and different gearing. Runs low 13s at the track and get this, has his suspension full done. He runs 17x95s up front with 275s and on the rears he has 17x11 running 325 O_O. It's a freaking gripping monster and it accelerates freaking fast. He runs the canyons in LA and supposedly runs against Porshes. Domestics can be fast, you just gotta work them.

Most of my lifelong friends are domestic lovers and I've helped them with their cars so I'm not a domestic hater-although I COULD be a domestic .....abuser(?) lol. A good friend of mine has a 92 z28, also with different gearing and runs low 14s. Not as fast as it could be because he pretty much stopped modding it, but I know their potential. When you work on a motor, you come to appreciate the car more.....
