If you're into pokemon it's cool with me.
I just have a distaste for the following:
Dubbed anime
Any series that was designed to sell a card game (Yugioh, etc.)
Dragon Ball, DBZ, DBGT

/OT

Some Dubbed animes are funny. After watching the good version, just watch the dubbed ones. Such a horrible job. Well, except for Pioneer (they're decent).

P.S. Card Games Own too. hahahaha. Imagine Yugioh Card Game Tourneys being played @ Drift events... And every kid brought scooters with them.

Well...as long as you don't say that you like Dragon Ball I won't have contempt or pity for you.

Drifting a fad? Yea right... maybe drift competitions, but still doubtful. Drifting is part of racing, its not just something like donuts, it is a usefull part of taking turns at higher speeds. It's like burnouts... they never get old, it is something that is fun and it a crowd pleaser. As long as there are RWD cars there will be drifting. So... definatly not a fad.

Here's my opinion,

somebody said it already but pretty much everything is a fad, sooner or later it dies out and only the true enthusiasts remain.

I see this happening, first, its gonna get a lot more popular, a lot more people are gonna be out trying to drift, and you're probably gonna start hearing horror stories of people driving off cliffs in the mountain passes or canyon roads, or simply just smacking into walls, or curbs or whatever is in the way on city streets. ( I know the latter is already happening)

Eventually they'll probably make a movie about it, just like Fast & the Furious. I wouldn't be suprised if they made a F&F3 about drifting. I think its only a matter of time before some Hollywood guy exploits it.

Professionally It will take off, and judging from D1GP this year, we'll probably start seeing a lot more sponsors attending these events, as well as some cable or TV time.

After all is said and done though, it will begin to die down, leaving the true enthusiasts. I think in the end it will be a lot more popular than it is now, but not as popular as it will be at its peak.

Personally, I fell in love with my S14 on the street one day. I first got into old muscle cars and I used to have a 1969 Camaro. One day driving it, I saw an S14 and I fell in love just like that. Love at first sight.

I didn't even know my car was good for drifting, and I didn't get it for that reason. I've never been into Honda's or any typical import built for speed. Actually I didn't like new cars until I saw the 240.

When I got it though, my brother who was into street racing told me that it was a good drift car and he showed me some Option videos. I like it even more now. Like I said I really didn't like newer cars, but now that I've been introduced to drifting I'm becoming fond of the FC, S13, S15, and the A86.

I have yet to try drifting, but I think I will. I have to admit that I too am jumping on the bandwagon, but since I have yet to drift, I consider myself an enthusiast of the sport. I think if its fun, wich it sure looks like it is, It'll be a hobby for me that I'll do as often as I can.

I know, I write a lot. Alrato.

Drifting? Mid 90's? OMG! Alrights kids, I Know I am gonna get flamed for this but here goes? To the one said it used to be called powerslides, right on but damn my dad used to do that in the 60's. My first car was a 73 Dodge Dart I used to slide corners til daybreak. Drifting is a name for it since someone decided to make a sport out of it. Wanna watch the original drifters? Go watch some good ole dirt track outlaws? Except thats still a race, the one over the finish line first is the winner, remember that? Drifting is to motor sports what figure skating is to hockey. Sorry guys. You have ALL jumped on the band wagen, and you will all fall off.
