no..its a box that the line runs into on the frail...you can bypass it all together..and you should

here the damper bypass with pics. i haven't done it but from what i've been told the pedal is a bit harder to press but not too much. if i ever do it i'll take pics so i can post it here so we can have the info on this site.

You can download the Factory Service Manual for free. It's just as good if not better.

So I take it you like the FSM. Spend the 20 bucks on something that will make your car faster I could be wrong, but I think only Nissan has FSMs avaliable online (I dont even think Nissan put them there though) I could be wrong.
