This is the correct way to install a s13 VLSD in a 91240sx coupe!

First off you need to get 2 bottles of Penzoil Gear oil. You can also add a aditive for VLSD if you want i didnt.
You also need a s13 VLSD with half shafts and 5 bolt axels.
This is for s13 rear to 91 240sx, not sure about others.
I used air tools.
12mm and 17mm sockets, needle nose, 35mm socket for hubs, open rench for 12mm or 17mm. Pair of mechanics gloves and saftey glasses.
Took 2.5 hours with taking pics and taking time with air tools.
First clean up diff and axels with degreaser.
Heres the package.. 5 bolt pattern s13. VLSD.

Drain the old oil...

Add the new oil Penzoil 80-90 gear oil.

raise the car up with 2 jacks and one 1-ton jack in middle of pumpkin. Remove wheels, remove pin, remove center hub bolt 35mm.

Remove the 6 bolts to the axels. 12mm

s13 is almsot the same but the rear cover is bigger but fits perfect.

Remove 4 rear bolts that hold old rear in and the 2 front bolts with jack underneath. It wieghs close to 80lbs.

Lower down rear at an angle then remove both axels remeber wich axel is longer and lower old rear end should fall out.
put s13 axels in long on right small on left, then put s13 rear on jack and rase install 4 blots and then 2 front, secure both axels with the bolts from old rear to all axels bolts. "make sure when doing axel bolts you do every other bolt so it lines up perfect to half shafts to axles or it will not work right on the rode, you will see that there not a perfect fit if its wrong."
Put 4 bolts back in drive shaft and you won...
Go for a slow test.

THE END

Nice write up!! Wish pics were there, but still very good. Struck1 says he swapped one from a 95 J30, into a '91? Will a differential from another nissan work, i.e. 300zx? Please say yes. I just bought the brake rotors, calipers, hubs/spindels, from a 1990 300zx 5-lug. THey gave me the rear lower controlarms and the axels. Will the control arms fit i wonder but i would really like the DIF. Let me know.
