I need some serious help/advice...but its not a 240 tranny

hey guys, i know this is for the 240 tranny threads but i dont know where else to put this (ive got a 240 too...) but my '95 Maxima (POS) is really screwin up and i need sum help w/ finding the problem. Its an unfortunate automatic tranny and hasnt had any problems before this but the shifter is like STICKY? like i have to find the "sweet spot" to click the button in and move it from PARK to any other gear. most of the time, now, i hafta turn the key to ACC and place the shifter to Neutral, then start it cuz it seems to not be reading my "PARK" setting. i checked all the fuses and nothing was blown...i am completely stumped on this. sorry about it not being a 240 tranny, but im fixing my 240 boostleak at the moment and i need this maxima to be driveable...lemme know if you have any advice...thanks

Adjust the shift linkage. It might have come loose or something and that's why the gears aren't tight anymore aka not knowing where it is.

Sounds like you might have ****ed up your tranny... drop the pan and check for metal shavings and such. How long since you changed the ATF? I used to have a 97 maxima and the AT went out and I had to replace it. maxima.org is your friend!
