need info on trans

i know this has been answered probably a million times, but my ka 24e with original trans is showing its age. its been good and has suprized me many times. but i rather repl with stronger ka24de. can i do this??

the ka24e only has 80k and i dont want to upgrade untill i need to. it runs well and has mods. 125 mph easy. i will purchase sr or kade soon and just wait for the day i need to repl. i just dont want to waste $ for tranny.
